Extensive user research for TechLens revealed that travelers and tech enthusiasts often face challenges such as time consuming information searches, unreliable online content, and lack of engaging digital experiences when exploring historical or cultural sites.

Surveys and interviews showed users want trustworthy, concise information, interactive learning, and immersive previews of destinations.

Many participants cited frustration with scattered resources, overcrowded sites, and limited access to authentic local insights, highlighting a demand for a unified, accessible solution that leverages modern technology for both education and pre-travel planning.

TechLens aims to bridge the gap between complex technology and everyday users by delivering clear, reliable, and engaging insights into historical sites and tech innovations.

The app’s vision is to offer an all in one platform that combines expert curated content, interactive AR experiences, and community driven feedback.

Unlike fragmented sources or generic travel apps, TechLens addresses the market gap by focusing on immersive, accurate, and easily accessible information empowering users to make informed travel decisions, deepen their understanding of destinations, and support digital preservation of cultural heritage.

Tools used for the development of this application primarily included the Affinity suite, Blender and Unity game engine.

TechLens’s design prioritizes simplicity, clarity, and user engagement.

The app features a clean, intuitive interface with minimal clutter, clear navigation, and consistent branding. Interactive elements such as quizzes, AR visualizations, and personalized recommendations, all to enhance immersion and learning.

The design process incorporated user personas, storyboards, and iterative prototyping, ensuring the UI is accessible and appealing to a wide audience.

Features like streamlined onboarding, context aware content, and responsive layouts ensure a seamless experience across devices, making TechLens both user friendly and visually compelling.

Figma Board Design

I designed a comprehensive Figma board that maps out the entire user flow, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience from onboarding to in app AR interactions.

The board includes clearly connected screens representing each major step in the journey, each linked with directional arrows to illustrate navigation and decision points.

Sections are organized to group related flows, like account creation, main exploration, and settings, making it easy to visualize logical divisions and optimize navigation and provide easier user testing.

The Figma prototype for TechLens provides an interactive look at the app’s clean interface and core features, including AR city tours, interactive maps, and real-time information overlays.

It lets users and stakeholders experience the main user flows and see how the app brings travel experiences to life with intuitive navigation and engaging visuals.
